Special Needs Programmes

Working as part of the College of North West London’s Outreach team we have provided sessions for adults with learning and physical disabilities in a variety of community settings over the last ten years – 1991 – 2011.

Sessions were in Brent and Harrow centres offering opportunities to take English Speaking Board examinations, Asdan and other qualifications where appropriate.

Centres also staged their own productions from classic pantomimes to a reworking of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Nights Dream.

Many sessions involved creative art work where students made a number of different things which could then be sold as part of their Business Enterprise programmes.

Dance classes were also given with an opportunity to take part in wheelchair dance sessions after the Day centres had closed. Please see the section on wheelchair Dance for more information on this.
