Foundation Years Programmes on Multi Lingual learning and story telling with parents and children

2002 – 2010

London Workshop Company provided story-telling workshops based on stories from different cultures, told and filmed by Tam Tam Tales and Tam Tam Tales Trust.

The films made the stories available in a number of languages. The children then had a grasp of the story before the workshop process began. The children had follow on workshops where they explored and created their own stories based on what they had seen. Repetition of key words using gesture, mime and physical theatre enhance language learning and development.

Other programmes were for parents on the art and importance of telling stories in mother tongue languages. Parents were given confidence and techniques in coming together to tell their own stories from their childhoods and making films of them to share with their children.
