Over the years, LWC has gained and maintained a reputation for providing quality educational workshops with our diverse team of leaders, each having their own unique performance based background and covering a wide range of specialist skills such as mime, mask, improvisation, musical theatre and wheelchair dancing to name but a few!

Ruth Burgess – Workshop Director

Ruth set up LWC in 1996 after being the Senior Workshop Leader at the Unicorn Theatre for 11 years. Along with her background in Dance and Drama training, having gained an A.D.B.ed in Drama, as well as the IDTA to Associate level in Ballet, Stage, Modern Tap, Ruth is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts where she has gained an international reputation with 38 years of experience to her name.

Amanda Ling

Amanda is our longest serving practitioner, having worked with LWC for almost 20 years on a wide variety of projects. She comes from a Dance, Theatre and Education background having studied at the West London Institute, the Central School of Speech and Drama and has taught extensively at Stagecoach for 19 years. In her spare time, Amanda teaches Pilates and Yoga in gyms and private studios, uses Role Play for several theatre companies and is also a Director/Choreographer in Musical Theatre.

Andre Pink

Andre is Brazilian and an all round theatre practitioner, having trained at Ecole Philippe Gaulier and moved to London after in 1996. He has amassed a vast catalogue of teaching classes, delivering workshops and directing all age groups both in the UK and abroad. He has been collaborating with LWC since 2000 whilst also being the Artistic Director of the Dende Collective and regularly teaching in Drama Schools, most prominently the Physical Theatre Course at East 15. He also has a strong passion for Mask Theatre.

Sandy Beech

Sandy is originally from Canada, having trained and performed professionally as an Actor and Physical Theatre Performer whilst also working with Clowning techniques. Sandy combines her performance roles with being an exceptional nursery teacher, specialising in Storytelling Shows and workshops for our Early Years Programmes.

All of our leaders are fully qualified and are Fully Enhanced DBS Checked.
